Cleansing Toxins and Cellulite with Aromatherapy

As women age, their bodies undergo many changes. Pregnancy, childbirth, and subsequently menopause subject the body to a lifetime of hormonal fluctuations, which affect the mind, body, and emotions. Along with all of these journeys that a woman endures over a lifetime a woman strives to maintain her physical appearance and the youthful figure that she once had as a young girl. Welcome to the battle of the bulge!

In this war zone you will combat the enemies of stress, hormones, junk food, and the effects of aging. However, don't give up! There are many weapons that have been given to you to help you overcome all of these tactics of defeat. Proper diet, exercise, natural herbs that have estrogen like properties, and whole organic foods will help keep your body nourished from the inside out.

There are many over the counter treatments, fad diets, exercise gadgets and prescription drugs that promise to help shed the pounds, tone the body, prevent wrinkles, remove the effects of hormonal imbalance or speed up the production of estrogen, and ultimately turn back the hands of time when the truth is that you don't have to fear growing old and you don't have to throw your youthful figure away either.

By living a life that removes stress, and has a diet full of wholesome rich organic foods, and by using the essential oils of herbs and plants you can treat many of the symptoms that appear before they become settled and evident in your life and appearance.

Aromatherapy is a wonderful weapon to combat stress, fatigue, aging, and it holds many beautifying effects for the skin, hair, and overall health. One of the most important aspects to maintaining your physical beauty and health is to detoxify the body of impurities regularly. Toxins will rob you of your beauty and slow down your body's ability to regenerate itself and maintain its optimum level of health and beauty.

There are many natural herbs that are highly effective in eliminating toxins and poisons from the body. One sign that you may need to cleanse your body, even if you have achieved your desired weight, is by the appearance of cellulite. Cellulite is dimpled areas of collections of fat that lay underneath the skin. These spots usually collect around the hips, buttocks, and upper thighs. They have a strong resemblance to cottage cheese and most women would give anything to rid themselves of this look.

Aromatherapy offers many plants and herbs that have excellent results in removing the body of cellulite. Three of the most powerful herbs used to rid toxins and cellulite include Juniper, Grapefruit, and Fennel. A wonderful way to use these herbs is to make massage oil out of the essential oils and adding them to carrier oil. You can massage the oil directly onto the problem areas daily for maximum benefit. It is also recommended to drink a tea or herbal infusion made from these beneficial herbs. If you are new to Aromatherapy, always consult with an Aromatherapist before making edible teas or infusions and remember to always read the labels and safety instructions of essential oils before using them as well.

Weight Loss And Body Fat: Are You An Apple or Pear?

Although of us hear about the different body shapes most commonly described in terms of either ?apple? or ?pear, many don?t understand the implications and, often times, the inherent dangers of possessing a certain shape.

Am I An Apple?

Let?s start with the ?apple? shape, or, as it is sometimes referred to, the android shape. These terms connote a more abdominally concentrated depositing of fat. Between the two fruit types, this is the more dangerous of the two. Several conditions have been linked to these high levels of abdominal obesity, such as: stroke, hypertension, type II diabetes, coronary artery disease, hyperuricemia, and in the case of women, polycystic ovary syndrome.

How Can I Decrease My Weight-Related Risks?

The best way to keep your abdominal obesity at safe levels would be to use the Waist-to-Hip Ratio. All you need is a tape measure to measure your waist at its narrowest point and your hips at it widest while standing. For example, if one were to have a 32? waist and 40? hips then your Waist-to-Hip Ratio would be 4/5 or 0.8. Generally speaking, any number higher than 0.8 for women translates as greater health risks; while for men, anything over 0.95 is when things start to become risky. So, keep a tape measure handy.

Am I A Pear?

The other body shape is commonly called a ?pear? shape, or one may hear the term ?gynoid?. This essentially refers to a larger depositing of fat in the lower body, which is typically more common with women. However, men have steadily developed this fat distribution pattern in the past 30 years due to their unnatural exposure to estrogen-like compounds found in plastics, pesticides, and hormone-injected foods. This pattern increases the likelihood of prostate enlargement and cancer. While typically lacking the more life-threatening dangers found with abdominal obesity, the pear shaped are still likely to develop mechanical problems due to the excess mass on the lower half of the frame. So, don?t let the insidiously rosy picture of the ?pear? shape fool you, it is still ideal for one to minimize fat regardless of its location.

Why Does Fat Form On Certain Areas Of My Body?

At this point, you may be asking why does fat ?fall where it falls.? The reason why is largely dependent on genes and hormones, unfortunately. Some scientists even say that genes are no less than 20% responsible for one?s fat distribution while some have even conjectured that as much as 50% of our fat distribution is determined by our genes. They are still uncertain as to exactly how much of a role one?s genetic makeup plays in determining fat distribution, but it does play a considerable role, no doubt. One thing that is for certain is that the more ?feminine? hormones, like estrogen and prolactin, often direct fat to the lower extremities, while a body with abnormally high corticosteroid production leads to abdominal obesity. As is the case with all types of obesity, an appropriate diet and exercise prescription will help you tremendously. So, grab a tape measure and figure out if you are at risk and make the necessary life adjustments. Your body will thank you later. I promise!

10 Tips to Maintain Health and Beauty

Beauty, health, and nutrition are all integrated. If you eat a balanced diet you will be able to maintain your physique and glowing beauty externally and good health internally. A balanced diet is one that provides all the nutrients you need, the right amount of proteins, carbohydrates, and fat.

To achieve goals you need to ensure a good balance in your diet, introduce variety into your meals, and practice moderation. The basis of nutrition lies in your height, weight, dimensions, and your daily energy needs. Once you know this you can compute what your daily calorific needs are and set goals for weight maintenance, gain, or loss. By regulating your diet you can be active as well as happy.

You must:

1.Eat sensibly. Include a variety of foods in your diet such that the 40 nutrients that are required by your body are present. Make use of a food pyramid and calorie chart to prepare tasty and nutritious meals. Follow the ?Dietary Guidelines for Americans? issued each year.

2.Eat plenty of whole grains, fruits, and vegetables. They will supply you with essential vitamins, minerals, and protection from several diseases.

3.Maintain your weight at a healthy level. Successful weight management is one of the golden keys to good health. By doing is you will lower considerably the risk of many diseases like hypertension, diabetes, heart diseases, cancer, and osteoporosis.

4.Learn self control, eat moderate portions. The secret lies in eating everything but in small portions. Don?t give way to gluttony or greed.

5.Make a time-table for your meals and how many calories will be in each meal. Never fast, starve yourself, or skip a meal. Eat when your body demands sustenance but not huge quantities.

6.Practice moderation. Good health does not lie in eliminating carbohydrates or fats. Include all your favorite foods but balance them with the rest of your diet. If you indulge your taste buds by eating pizza one day, then try and do so at lunch time, never eat pizza late at night. Ask for low fat cheese and healthy toppings. Eat just enough to satisfy your craving not all 12 slices. Get a few friends to share you sin. The days you indulge, eat sensibly the rest of the day?salads and fruits will help you make up for the binge.

7.Be sure your meals each day include all the food groups.

8.Plan to exercise every day. Either walk or take up aerobics, dancercise, or join a gym. Exercise will not just burn calories but put a glow into your skin, tone your muscles, and strengthen your bones. Exercise also removes accumulated toxins from your body.

9.Maintain a dairy in which you record your goals, and what you eat each day. Review your week objectively and create a table that shows at a glance what you did right and what you did wrong. This will help keep you on the right track.

10.Celebrate each victory. Give yourself a present or take yourself out every time you achieve a goal.

By eating healthy, one can live a complete and rounded life without diseases, reduce stress greatly, look and feel great, be happy from within and without, age well, produce healthy progeny, and live life to the fullest.

Store Bought Vitamins Synthetic?

Did you know that most store bought vitamins and minerals are synthetic and are hard on your liver and kidneys? Have you noticed that if you do take store bought vitamins that you switch the brands like switching shampoos?

Think about how a cell works. If someone was suffering from scurvy, all they had to do was eat an orange and the body would immediately recover because the cells recognized that copper is the center of vitamin C and that it has all of it's bioflavinoids surrounding it and just one tiny arm of the copper is vitamin C.

When you buy synthetic vitamin C, you are only absorbing a maximum of 15% or you may have one of those products where the label is inconsistent with what is actually in the vitamin.

Did you know that your cells will cannibalize a neighboring cell to try and make sense out of the synthetic vitamins in order to absorb it? Not good when you consider your cells assimilate food, not rocks and minerals mined from the earth.

Make sense?

Therefore at least one manufactuer has a DNA(Dietery Needs Assesment) Survey. You take this test that is more accurate than a blood test to find out about your autonomic nervous system. The way we eat may have to be adjusted according to our genetic disposition.

Did you know that it takes up to four generations to adjust to an entirely new way of eating? That's why Pritikin and Atkins are not for everyone. Vitamins are not a one size fits all and most importantly of all, it must not be vitamin A, it must be the hole carrot.

Take the DNA Survey today, find out what you should be eating according to how fast or how slow you digest. Then, see your recommended FOOD Vitamin that is over 90% absorbed and supports the autonomic nervous system for you.

Click on the links to pull up the test and recommended results for free:

Now, Inuit people in Alaska eat high protein and animal fats in their diet and in complete contrast, Hindu people eat plant foods and no meat. They both have absolutely no history of heart disease in their culture. However, if you were to switch their diets... there would be grave circumstances.

This DNA test is cutting edge. Find out what you are, look at the pie chart showing you the portions of fats (fatt acids or EFA's), proteins, and carbohydrates for your genetic disposition.

What Should a Hatha Yoga Teacher Know? Part 3

Niyamas are the ethical observances of Yoga. Yoga teachers should know them by heart; they do not conflict with any law or religion.

Shaucha: To put it simply, be clean in hygiene, diet, and behavior. Hygiene and a Sattvic diet can become a daily ritual, but avoiding unhealthy or unclean thought is a daily challenge. This means controlling angry thoughts, angry actions, and suppressing the ego as much as humanly possible.

Santosha: This is commonly considered to be contentment, but it is also acceptance of life as it is. This is most difficult to attain in societies where material gain is the number one objective. Acceptance does not mean giving up but accepting what we cannot control. When we realize there is much in life that we cannot control, we open the door to inner peace.

Tapas: When we think of Tapas, the first word that comes to mind is austerity. This is fine, but Tapas is a way of life, based on fortitude, perseverance, dedication, discipline, and regular Yoga practice, put into action. Tapas will produce results, but may require you to practice Yoga, when it is much easier to eat a chocolate doughnut. One of the biggest problems with the world today is the lack of commitment toward goals.

Swadhyaya: This is taking the time to study sacred scriptures of your specific religion. The answers to all your spiritual questions can be found within them. You do not have to change your religion, but the more you read from your own religion?s scriptures, the more ways you can learn to appreciate people who practice a different religion.

If you take the time, you will see commonality in the principles of all the major religions. Jesus said, Do to others what you would have them do to you. All of the world?s religions have a similar saying, but who really puts the words into practice and action? Only an enlightened person would make a statement such as: Hurt no one so that no one may hurt you. This statement was made by Mohammed.

Therefore, reading and studying Holy Scriptures, mean nothing if you do not take positive action from what you learn. All of the scriptures tell us to live in peace. The worst crime against humanity is when a political or religious leader preaches hate and incites war or killing.

Ishwara Pranidhana: Acknowledge God as a supreme being by whatever name you are familiar with. Pray daily and actively participate in your religion.

Black Fingernail

If you have a black fingernail, you may be wondering whether it is caused by a fungal infection under the nail. This may well be the case, however, other things can cause a nail to turn black, so it's important to consider other possibilities and perhaps consult your doctor before jumping to conclusions.

Fungal infection of fingernails and toenails is called onychomycosis. Only a few species of fungus are capable of invading human hair and nails - they often gain access through a break in the skin or under the nail at the tip of the finger or toe. Because they derive their nutrients from the protein found in human nails and dead skin cells, these fungi do not invade healthy tissue. Instead, they invade the matrix of the nail itself and grow there, causing a black fingernail or toenail.

Onychomycosis is quite common: more than ten percent of the North American population will experience a fungal nail infection at some time in their lives: it is probably the most common cause of nail abnormalities in the general population, however, there are other causes. A blow to the affected nail is the most obvious alternative. When a nail or the root of a nail is struck so that blood vessels are broken and a bruise forms under the nail, a black area develops that takes a very long time to clear up. Depending on the severity of the bleeding, the whole nail or only part of the nail will be affected. Nails grow very slowly and bruises are similarly slow to disappear even after soreness subsides - a black nail that persists long after the initial injury is no cause for alarm. It will grow out in time.

Nail injuries are, however, the route of entry for other organism that can either live in and under the nail without causing a problem or set up an infection in exposed tissue. Some species of bacteria are known to colonize spaces in nail beds without causing infection. Some of these bacteria produce color changes, though shades of green are more typical than black. The bacterial colonies can persist for long periods of time without causing noticeable inflammation. Various species of yeast can set up severe and progressive infections of the nail bed and tissues around the nail, however these infections usually do not cause a black fingernail, and are generally severe enough that the need for medical attention is obvious. Yeast infections are, in fact, another form of onychomycosis.

If you have not suffered a nail injury and your black fingernail is slowly progressing and causing the nail to become thick, deformed, and crumbly, you may have true onychomycosis. Typically, infected nails are white, yellow, brown or black, and variations on these shades may be present. The infection often starts on a toenail and progresses to other toes and fingers, and is very resistant to treatment. If you suspect you have a fungal nail infection, make an appointment with your physician for a proper diagnosis.

Preventing Sinus Infections

Sinus infections are infections that cause inflammation to the sinuses. Sinus attacks are caused by an infection in the sinuses or cavities that are present in the bones near the nose. When there is any swelling in these sinuses because of some infection, breathing becomes difficult, resulting in fever, headaches, and other discomforts. It is very important to recognize the exact symptoms and cause of the infection. Sinus infection treatments can vary vastly depending on the type of infection: acute (up to three weeks), chronic (three to eight weeks or more), and recurring (frequent attacks within a year).

Sinus infections or the frequency of sinus attacks can be prevented to a certain extent. The best way is to avoid cold and bacterial infections by avoiding places that have too much humidity. This can be done by installing humidifiers in the room, keeping the humidity levels ideally at 45-50%. The air should not be too dry. If the air is too dry, you can try breathing through a moist towel. Air conditioners also have air purifying systems that do not allow bacteria to grow.

Some people are more likely to have a sinus attack if they are susceptible to allergies. People who are prone to sinus attacks should avoid pollutants like cigarette smoke and even alcohol. They should also avoid places like swimming pools that have chlorine-treated water since chlorine increases nasal irritation. Other things to be avoided are dust, pollen, mold, or any foods that trigger allergies. There are many tests to determine the vulnerability to certain irritants.

Drinking a lot of water and other fluids every day would also help to combat sinus infections. Rest is also required. Avoid using too many over-the-counter medications, as these can augment the level of infection if not diagnosed properly.

Sinus Infections provides detailed information about sinus infections, sinus infection symptoms, sinus infection treatment, home remedy for sinus infection and more. Sinus Infections is the sister site of Topical Vitamin C.

How Music Can Help You Burn More Fat

Browsing one of the Russian websites I have recently found a little article claiming that music can affect our health both improving and worsening it. That sounded very interesting and I decided to research how can music actually affect our well-being.

What I found has blown my mind and I want to share the results with you.

Scientists all over the world agreed that music influences hormone production that are directly connected with our emotions. If you think about it you are influenced by music all the time. Think of your last time you've watched a horror movie. Remember how music actually made your heart race faster. Music physicians in Japan and China help patients form their own music aid kits, where you can find CDs with the names like Liver, Lungs, Migraine or Metabolism.

Now let me tell you about my most valuable discovery. Music can not only improve your overall health, it can also help you lose weight! Eating dinner while listening to Mozart helps to improve your metabolism and food digestion. When you eat while listening to the pop or rock music you automatically start eating faster. As a result you swallow bigger pieces making it harder for your stomach to digest the food.

Which inevitably leads to extra pounds. When we listen to classical music, subconsciously you get an image of luxury, wealth and sophistication, explains this phenomenon psychology Dr. Adrian Nort. It improves our mood, and makes us take our time and eat slowly enjoying food.

Exercising while listening to the classical music help you lose weight a lot faster than listening to loud fitness pop music. Why? Maybe because during the experiment a first group of people listening to Vivaldi music worked out on a stationary bike a half an hour longer than the group who was listening to the pop music.

Even if you are not a big fan of classical music I urge you to try it! What do you have to lose except for the ugly looking cellulite, extra body fat, and bad eating habits?

Why Weight Loss is Cool and Phentermine is Hot?

Many girls today are in a damsel in distress mode, very much a modern prototype of the Victorian dames, worried about their figure. The physical and mental outlook of girls have evolved with the passage of time, but certain matters close to their heart remain unchanged. An hourglass shape then is a pencil thin figure now, with a record 83 % of female college students hooked to dieting practices. They try every tricks of the trade from skipping breakfast and smoking to vomiting and popping diet pills in the quest for a thin and hip look.

Weight loss is no more a concern confined to the obese alone, as many girls use push and ram methodology to (mis)manage their weight without caring a hoot for the position of their body weight in the BMI scale. The state of affairs is not weight loss for a healthier end, but a prettier and thinner end. With the young female crowd fed on a daily diet of soap operas, they look up to the actresses for fashion and dieting inspirations. Though it is no mean feat to attain and replicate the figure and shape of the screen goddesses in real life, the girls are keener, the more surreal and bizarre, the ideal figure is.

Anticipation for a dream form and outline drives the young bunch loco, as they resort to any and every available ways and means to get to a pedestal, where they would be the envy of everyone. Slim or stout, it doesn?t matter, as it?s all about weight loss for the sake of weight loss. Their youthful tirade and diatribe is maddening to the point of utter insanity and profanity. They know no right and wrong, they visualize only the artist?s impression of a perfectionist. Fashion statement in colleges reflects the virtual medium, and it is happening to emulate what they see on screen. It makes weight loss a cool proposition among the female college students. It keeps them going.

Determined they are, but successful they are not when it comes to weight loss in its totality and entirety. Only when their attempts at skipping breakfast for days and months at a stretch, chain smoking and vomiting go down the drain, futile and in vain, do they realize that weight loss is no child?s play. The younger lot has no time and patience for healthy physical workouts. Tell them and they would tell you about the time and space constraints for such activities. They love to lose weight, but not the hard way, after all they are the children of a new world, where everything comes wrapped in a package.

And yes the modern ?press-button? culture sees to it that its children are not let down. In comes Phentermine, a weight loss diet pill to show them the way out without as much physicality as is generally required for weight loss. With its appetite suppressing characteristics, Phentermine drives away the hunger quotient in them, making their weight loss regime a lot easier and effectual than skipping meals or smoking. Phentermine is hot commodity in the campus (girls count on them more than their beaus).

Weight loss may be a cool thing to do, and Phentermine may be a hot pill to pop, but always keep this at the back of your mind that weight loss is all about physical, mental and spiritual wholeness. When you use ways alien to your system for weight loss, you are simply supporting yourself on crutches instead of learning to walk independently.

Lose Weight With a Healthy Diet

A healthy diet should include foods from the four main food groups. One of the best ways to lose weight is to follow the food pyramid and eat the suggested servings of each food group for your age. This method of healthy eating does require planning and you need to have a copy of the food pyramid in front of you as you plan your menu for the week. Planning a weekly menu is a good way to get started and once you do this for several weeks, the kinds and amounts of foods that you should be eating will soon become clear to you.

Although junk food is a no-no when you are on a diet, many people who do eat healthy foods still indulge in their favorite snacks from time to time. There is nothing wrong with treating yourself from time to time as long as you don't make it a practice or overindulge. There are also differences in what vegetarians term healthy foods, so if you don't eat meat, it does mean that you exclude all animal proteins from your diet. Proteins are essential nutrients that vegetarians might be at risk of not getting unless they pay particular attention to their foods.

Soy is comparable to animal protein and should be included in a daily diet if you are a vegetarian. Other sources of protein include

* Dry beans
* Peas
* Lentils

Some grains and vegetables are also good sources of protein. Soy milk and tofu are good sources of calcium and green leafy plants are a good source of iron.

Even if you are not a vegetarian, these foods will help to complement your diet and help you to feel full. All dieters should include a multi-vitamin and mineral supplement just to make sure. Drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day helps to flush out the burned calories and keep your body functioning the way it should.

Acne Medicine

Is acne making your social life hell? Is everybody giving you their valuable advice on how to get rid of acne? Have you tried and tested everything in the market without any success? Its time to do some research and find more about the products available and the effect they have on your skin. Acne is a very personal issue and any medication you undergo should be personalized according to your individual traits. Hence it is important that you find out few things like the type of your skin. If you have oily skin then you should use gel based products where as if your skin is dry then you should use an acne cream. If your skin is sensitive then you should avoid too strong products or your situation may worsen.

The main cause of acne, unlike popular belief is not dirt or dust where as it is either genetic or caused due hormonal changes like puberty. Acne can strike both boys and girls depending upon their genetic make up. Hence washing your face all the time may not be the solution rather washing two to three times a day with a mild cleanser may serve the purpose. You can choose from natural or medicated medicines. Natural medicines are made of extracts of plants and naturally occurring substances. They are generally a blend of ingredients like Vitamin E, grape seed oil, calendula, aloe vera or witch hazel and essential oils. However even natural medication may be strong and it is a fact that should be kept in mind by people of sensitive skin.

Medicated medicines contain chemicals that dry up the pimple while acting as exfoliate. The chemicals used most commonly are benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid. The higher the percentage of chemical used, the stronger is the product. Higher concentration may harm your skin hence its important to choose wisely while applying any cream--be it medicated or natural.

Medication may be short term or prolonged depending upon your condition. But no matter what you use it is important to alert oneself in case of any reaction or allergies that a medicine may cause if it does not suit your skin. Using medicines without proper supervision may have adverse effect and may cost you much more time and money if permanent damage occurs. Hence it is best advised to be careful while using any kind of medication.

Can We Go Back in Time in Our Own Genes?

BioTech is moving fast, eventually we will have computers, which will monitor our health and talk to our cells, even give them instructions and ask them to do diagnostic work. Similar to the way the dealership plugs into your cars electronic brain and sensors. What else will we find as this technology gets more and more advanced?

About five years ago, I had a thought on communicating with the cells thru light to go back in the memory of the potentially encoded DNA-RNA in your own body and picking up life experience highlights of your ancestors before procreation of the next generations.

Kind of like picking up the imprinted memories caused by chemicals and enzymes in the brain of their lives. We know that human babies are born with the fear of heights, yet should not have any idea of such things, so we know that is a powerful innate impression we all have, yet other species can do much more. Dolphins know how to swim at birth, horses know how to run, etc.

Additionally it might be able to view these thoughts or visual images thru time in another quantum type space of time. Simply become an observer. Once we can interpret the data in the DNA and various impressions, we may find an incredible wealth of human history? Although no telling what the images would look like if any, certainly not the same as the images which are interpreted thru the eye-brain bio-system. Glad to have made you think today, keep it up.

Weight Loss Discussion To Be or Not to Be FAT??

Show me a female who can sincerely admit that she is happy with her appearance in every way. Someone, who wouldn?t change a thing about herself/himself even if it was as easy as just wishing it. Unless that person is a bold one living-on-some-mountain monk, I don?t think that that kind of person exists.

Our physical shape is dictated to us as well as anything else is: dress according to the latest fashion, date the coolest guys (also make sure your parents like them), read the right books, eat the right food. What is the right food, I wonder. Do you open your refrigerator and a carton of milk jumps out of it into your lap, screaming: ?I am good for your heath! Drink me! ?And quit staring at that chocolate cake!!!?.

No help from groceries? Need not worry, ?cause precisely at this point, tones of real good articles and health books emerge to your assistance. Before you know it, your head is overloaded with useful advises of the greatest diets, best cosmetics and the safest birth control accessories ? this is when you lose control instead of gaining it. Your head is spinning, ready to blow up any second, too much information (this would be a good time for me to advise you on a really-really good diet, Just kidding).

This is the point when you should stop. First thing first, take a deep breath. Have you ever considered that perhaps you need not a diet? (Shame on me, I know) But still, could there be any chance at all that all you need is the right nutrition? I?m sure you?ve all heard about dystrophy ? an unpleasant disease that turns a beautiful body into a living (in the better cases) skeleton. Dystrophy, as other such mischief, often arises from the notion that if you are not a top-model-skinny-creature, girl, you are fat. Do yourselves a favor, before starving yourselves to death, throw away a couple of fashion magazines, I am sure you?ll feel better right away.

Breast Enhancement Creams

Breast enhancement creams are often used with breast enhancement pills. They can enhance the effects of the pills or can be used independently to increase the size and firmness of the breasts.

The makers of breast enhancement creams claim that these products tighten the apparent tones and contour of the breasts. They also improve the visible tone and texture of the skin. Cream makers also say that the creams improve the firm feel of the supporting skin of the breast and the skin from the breast to the chin, which is important for a proper shape.

Breast enhancement creams are made of a number of ingredients. It is necessary to thoroughly research each and every ingredient before using such creams. Common ingredients are various acids like stearic acid and ascorbic acid, extracts of algae, chamomile, lavender, and sage. Oils like avocado and jojoba are used. Other ingredients are glycerin, octyl methoxycinnamate, metylparaben, propylparaben, and phenoxyethanol. Some other ingredients are sabal, damiana, blessed thistle, kava kava, dandelion root, and motherwort.

Most breast enhancement creams have the same ingredients as the breast enhancement pills. The creams, however, don?t have as great a concentration of the active ingredients as the pills. Many breast enhancement creams are designed to maintain the changes achieved through pills. Some users of breast enhancement creams achieve fuller breasts with firmer tissue, thereby helping them avoid surgical procedures for a breast enhancement.

One of the most common side effects of these creams is soreness in the breasts that subsides after some time. Breast enhancement creams should be used for a period of 45 to 90 days for proper results.

Breast Enhancement provides detailed information about breast enhancement, breast enhancement creams, breast enhancement pills, and more. Breast Enhancement is affiliated with Breast Enlargement Cream.

Why Aren't You Using Green Tea Capsules?

Green tea capsules and tablets represent a simple, excellent, and effective way to get the benefits of green tea.

Although drinking green tea is very enjoyable and soothing to some people, many others don't like the bitter taste. Moreover, some people are realistic enough to know that the more trouble they have to go through to get the benefits of something, the less likely they are to do it.

Everyone now knows that drinking green tea is healthy just like they know that juicing vegetables and fruits is healthy too. But not many of us have the time to juice vegetables and fruits everyday, just like we don't have the time to brew green tea and sip it.

That's why green tea capsules are a fantasic way to get the health benefits of this ancient drink in the few seconds a day it takes to swallow them.

Moreover, if you are taking a quality green tea supplement, you could get more of its potent antioxidants than you could if you drank 4 to 5 cups of the tea a day because of its concentrated nature.

Green tea has a history as colorful as it is flavorful.

Legend has it that almost 5,000 years ago a Chinese emperor was sipping hot water whilst relaxing under a tea shrub when some of the leaves accidently blew off the shrub and landed in his cup.

He took a sip, liked what he tasted, and since then green tea became the health drink of choice in Asia, and is now spreading to the Western world rapidly.

What's really amazing is that it wasn't until recently that research has discovered just how incredibly powerful the health benefits of green tea are.

What Green Tea Contains

Green tea has many beneficial substances, like catechins, tannins, fluoride but, most important of all, powerful antioxidants called polyphenols.

One of these polyphenols in particular, which is referred to as EGCG, has been shown in studies to have potent anticancer properties. Indeed, EGCG is now thought to be one of the most powerful anticancer compounds discovered to date.

For the health savvy people who have heard about EGCG, it is the primary reason they drink green tea or use green tea capsules and supplements.

In one large study with chinese participants, it was discovered that the men and women who drank green tea had lower rates of: rectal, pancreatic, and colon cancer.

Other studies conducted here in the United States revealed that EGCG may be able to get cancer cells to stop reproducing.

Amazingly, it may accomplish this by somehow signalling the cancer cells to die, which in scientific terms is called apotosis.

Even more remarkable is that EGCG doesn't appear to hurt the healthy, non-cancerous cells of our body, so it seems to work selectively. This study was conducted at Case Western Reserve University, located in Ohio.

Other studies are now showing that green tea may be able to help mitigate the damage from LDL cholesterol -- otherwise known as the bad cholesterol that is a key marker in heart disease.

In fact, its possible role in lowering cholesterol is another of the biggest reasons people are now turning to green tea capsules and supplements.

Despite all of the potential health benefits of green tea, some people avoid drinking it because it does naturally contain caffeine, which makes some people jittery and nervous.

The good news is that green tea used in green tea capsules and tablets often contains much less caffeine than a cup of green tea itself. A cup of green tea contains about 40 mg of caffeine whereas a daily typical serving of green tea capsules might only contain 5 mg of caffeine.

Importantly, the typical serving of green tea capsules or supplements will have the same concentration of the polyphenols and powerful antioxidants as the green tea.

Even better for some people is that green tea can be decaffeinated and used in green tea capsules so that you can get all the benefits with none of the caffeine.

So there you have it. If you aren't already using green tea capsules for your health, it's time to give it some serious consideration as part of your supplement regimen.

Iron Mineral101

Iron is a mineral that is essential to the health and functioning of the body. Deficiencies in iron can have serious consequences for overall health and even energy levels. While iron is important for both sexes, it is of particular importance to women due to biological and reproductive factors. However, world wide, many people do not meet the minimum suggested daily intake of iron resulting in a variety of health problems that range from the mild, which simply increasing the daily iron intake could remedy, to the severe, which often require more complex treatments but could easily have been avoided by sufficient daily iron consumption.

Iron serves several purposes within the body. One of the most important functions of iron in the system is its role is oxygenating the blood. Another essential role of iron is energy metabolism. It is a factor of the neurodevelopment of babies as they grow and develop in the uterus. Iron also serves to promote the important functioning of the body?s immune system particularly in the production of the white blood cells essential in fighting infection and disease. Iron is also essential in properly utilizing the B vitamins.

Women, because of their role in reproduction, need to be especially sure that their iron levels are sufficient especially during pregnancy as the healthy growth and development of their babies depends on it. Because of blood loss during menstruation, most women need to take a little extra precaution during that time period to make sure their iron levels stay at recommended levels.

Iron deficiencies can cause a variety of health problems. Anemia is by far the most common and it results in weakness, fatigue and, to the detriment especially of school children, an inability to concentrate properly. Oxygen is one of the most important life giving forces of the body and due to the essential role of iron in seeing to it that oxygen reaches all parts of the body, via the blood, general feelings of health and well-being rely on proper iron levels.

Dietary supplements that include iron, as well as iron enriched foods, play an important role world wide in achieving the recommended daily iron requirements of the human body. However, like any other dietary supplement or medicine, iron supplements must be used properly to be effective and to avoid inducing other serious health problems. Always remember also to couple your iron supplement drinking with ascorbic acid or vitamin C. This is to help the body absorb the iron more quickly.

An overdose of iron in small children can be fatal. Always keep iron supplements and vitamins that contain iron well out of the reach of children. A reminder for parents who wisely make use of a daily multivitamin and iron supplement for their children: if you are using those brightly colored, cartoon character types, always be sure to remind your children that those are powerful medicines and not merely candy. That way if the bottle is accidentally left down and the child does find it, they are less likely to overdose themselves with it and more likely to call it to your attention that you left it in their reach.

Iron is an essential nutrient for some of the body?s very important functions and processes. For many years, dietary supplements have been a safe and trusted means of making sure to meet the recommended daily iron intake levels. When used properly, iron supplements are a good choice for helping to keep the body strong and healthy.

Acne Scars

Acne is an inflammation of the skin that affects people from every country and every culture around the world. In the US, acne is predominantly thought of as a teenage dilemma, as more than eighty percent of teens and preteens will develop some form of acne. However, the condition certainly affects a large number of adults and even infants. The scientific name for the condition is acne vulgaris because acne usually strikes in plainly visible locations such as the face, neck, chest and back. There are various types of acne that range in annoyance, severity, and healing time. The most severe type of acne may even lead to scars that if not treated properly, may be visible for a lifetime. If you or a loved one is troubled by severe acne, here's what you need to know about acne scars and what you need to do to avoid and care for them.

How Does Acne Form?

Contact with an oily substance such as mineral oil, vegetable oil, or petroleum is a potential cause of acne, as is the use of certain medication and steroids. However, acne is most often cause by the secretion of androgens. Acne is also aggravated by milk or dairy products, red meat and fast food. Androgens are sex hormones that are initially secreted at the onset of puberty. They are male hormones but they are secreted by females as well. Androgens stimulate the production of oil from the skin's oil glands. Acne occurs when these overactive oil glands become blocked, causing the oil to build up in the gland and swell. A bacteria called Propionibacterium acnes normally colonizes this swollen gland causing the development of inflammation and pus. In particularly severe cases, the glands may burst into the skin and produce cysts.

Types Of Acne

Acne blemishes are categorized into four grades, ranging from mild to very severe.

Grade I: Mild acne falls into this category. People with grade I acne generally have blackheads and whiteheads but pimples are not present. Grade II: The condition is considered moderate acne when blackheads, whiteheads, and small pimples are present, but they are confined to the face and the inflammation they cause is minimal. Grade III: Severe acne includes blackheads, whiteheads, and deeper pimples with more pronounced swelling. Grade IV: acne is considered very severe when it occurs on the face, neck, shoulders, chest, and back. Pustules and deeper cysts occur with very severe acne and scarring may result if the condition is not cared for properly. Preventing Acne Scars

The most important rule for acne sufferers to remember is that you should never pick or squeeze acne blemishes. This can lead to the spread of acne and the development of acne scars. Instead, there are a number of herbal, homeopathic, and traditional formulas that can be used to treat acne and prevent the development of acne scars. Herbs work naturally with the body to reduce acne blemishes and prevent the development of acne scars. Echinacea and poke root are often used for their anti-inflammatory properties and red clover may be beneficial for its estrogenic action. Witch hazel has excellent astringent properties and may be very effective on acne.

Relieving Acne Scars

Acupuncture: Stagnant of Chi in the channels of the face is said to be the cause of acne. Acupuncture performed on these points of the face may help relieve acne, and prevent the development of acne scars.

Surgery: In moderate to severe cases of acne, doctors may use surgery to open up the blemishes and remove blackheads and whiteheads. Unlike medication treatments, the effects of acne surgery are usually more immediate. And surgery is also effective in reducing the development and visibility of acne scars.

Cleaning the intestinal Tract: Acne can be a by-product of a filthy intestinal tract and colon. In most cases when the colon is clean the acne will go away. I recommend the intestinal cleanser Oxy-Powder.

Other remedies include the skin rejuvenation program including 3 products: Oxy-Skin, Oxy-Zap and a strong Aloe Vera concentrate available at http://www.acne-answers.org. These products should help prevent acne scarring.

How Should Alternative Medicine Be Defined

There is still no strict definition on what alternative medicine really is. But presently, it borders on the broadness of description covered by what we know of as conventional or orthodox medicine. However, to define alternative medicine as we believe it to be, it may be a knowledge that is considered as unaccepted, untested and unscientific. All these were true if we are to look some years back. But since alternative medicine has been studied in the later years, employed by numberless institutions (such as spas and the likes) and accepted by many as cure to their ailments (even those that may be resolved through conventional medicine), this definition for alternative medicine may already be considered as obsolete.

On other terms, alternative medicines are practices that may be considered false that sometime go to the extent of quackery. However, this definition is much abused by several authorities that have their own systems of beliefs and other things to support to. Still others would define it as practices that may not be tested, refuse to undergo tests and may continuously fail tests. On other peoples' view, this may be too unfair for those practicing the knowledge that comprise alternative medicine and too sweeping a statement since many have gained healing by means of alternative medicine.

This debate on the authenticity of alternative medicine is further made complicated by the number of practices that are labeled as alternative medicine, which has some truths in them. In actuality, alternative medicine covers procedures involving metaphysical principles, spiritual and religious underpinnings, new sets of healing approaches and non-European medicine practices. These are enough reasons why alternative medicine is much harder to accept in the West rather than in the East where most these practices originated. In addition to these, many proponents of alternative medicine contradict and many individual belief systems may reject others.

Furthermore, critics of alternative medicine may further define it as therapy, treatment and diagnosis that may be performed legally by unlicensed practitioners. Yet, a number of doctors and physicians find good uses of alternative medicine when combined with the conventional medicine when they are trying to hit the balance.

But there are more logical and unbiased definitions that are accepted by most. Many of which deal only on the safety and affectivity of the alternative medicine without the protection on economic interests, political views and turf protection. One such definition is that alternative medicine is a field of healing, therapy and diagnosis that are not based on controlled studies.

There are however some therapies that were once covered by alternative medicine that are now accepted within the medical community since they passed approval over their affectivity. On the opposite, there were medical practices that are now disregarded within the medical circles since there are no profound evidences that prove their efficiency in healing.

In reality, the term alternative medicine is quite misleading. Both critics and advocates of the said practices support this view. Some support the idea that Western medical practices are the alternative medicines since they were preceded by ancient practices, which is somewhat true. Others would claim that the term alternative medicine was only devised by advocates of conventional medicine to discredit the natural methods of healing.

Detractors on alternative medicine claim that it is not worth as being accepted by the medical circles since it lacks components that may be used to support its efficiency. Yet many assert that once alternative medicine is fully tested, then there would be great rooms for wide acceptance.

Walking is a Great Form of Exercise Walk Off the Weight

Walking exercise is a great and easy way to lose weight and get fit. The greatest challenge for any working mom is the obstacle of finding time to exercise. For stay-at-home moms it's even more difficult because little ones often accompany the adventure and that means plenty of distractions along the way.

Many fitness experts consider walking as the best form of exercise. It's also an easy exercise program to begin because you will be able to set your own goals and limitations as you embark on your new fitness adventure. While some people might encourage you to join your local gym or the YWCA, walking for exercise gives you the ability and flexibility to exercise whenever, wherever you want.

Workout flexibility is great, but having a set schedule when you first begin is very helpful. In fact, pick out a set schedule for 21 days and write it in on your day planner and schedule everything else around your walking schedule. Why? Too many times exercise commitments are broken because you put someone else's needs before your own. For 21 days, you are going to put your overall health and well being first. You must take care of you! Starting now.

It is easier to start a walking program than joining an expensive gym. In fact, the only equipment you need will be a comfortable pair of walking shoes. You might check into a headset or walkman so that you can get into the groove of your new and improved YOU! Walking to music will encourage you to pick up your step and often you will walk longer than you had planned as your mind is wandering away and you are letting your troubles pass you by.

If you are a beginner, the best walking advice is to take it easy and start up slow. It is also a good idea to start with (2) 10 minute brisk walks before plunging into a full 20 minute power walk. Unless you are extremely overweight, or have health problems, you should be able to start your walking program with the 2 daily exercise sessions and do these 6 days a week or 7 days a week if you are feeling frisky and energetic. Start your walking program on a Monday. It is also a good idea to start changing your eating habits and patterns when you first step out into the world of exercise. You can accomplish so much more if you are maintaining a healthy lifestyle while taking on a life-changing and possibly life-saving walking program.

If you start up a walking program and follow it consistently you will lower your blood pressure, reduce your risk for heart disease and help you begin a journey toward a better way of life! You will notice pounds and inches seem to just melt away. You will not feel as fatigued as usual, and you'll notice better mental clarity. Yes, walking the weight off may be just what the doctor ordered, but ask your doctor before you start this or any exercise program. Especially if you are 30 pounds or more overweight and haven't been actively involved in any other exercise program. Then dust off your old sneakers and start walking those pounds away!

A Look at Bariatric Surgery Complications

Although many patients have few problems after bariatric surgery, there is the potential for complications, both small and large, just as there is with any surgical procedure. Minor complications can include dietary intolerance, hair loss, dry skin, menstrual irregularities, or pain. Other complications that may occur include dumping, stenosis, a narrowing of the gastric pouch?s outlet, vitamin or mineral deficiencies and anemia, gallstones, and vomiting caused by stretching the pouch.

More serious risks, ones that may need emergency attention, include bleeding, blood clots, infection, leakage of stomach acids, bowel obstructions, or hernia. Additional surgeries may be needed to correct any health problems that occur because of these complications. Of course, death is a risk as well, although the risk is less than one percent. Patients with a very high BMI and/or severe medical conditions are at the highest risk, but death can also occur in any patient.

Although significant weight loss occurs for nearly all bariatric surgery patients, regaining the weight is also a risk. Patients who do not maintain their lifestyle changes and eating behaviors may fall back into old habits and find that the scale is beginning to creep back up. Although significant weight gain after the initial weight loss is fairly infrequent, those who do experience it may have feelings of failure and depression.

Herbal Acne Treatments: Why Choose This Natural Method?

Fact: Accutane is expensive and has some possibly devastating side effects. Another fact: Most people don't have the time or the inclination to keep up constant visits to the dermatologist office, let alone pay for each visit, and pay an arm and a leg for their acne medication - whether it is accutane or any other acne medication! This is precisely why herbal acne treatments are coming on strong and don't show any signs of slowing down in the world of acne treatment and alternative medicine.

Herbal acne treatments are now some of the most sought after alternative acne remedies on the market today. A lot of people might wonder why that is, but I think I have the answer. Think about how many people have been scared off by bad press of the most popular and widely known prescription acne wonder pill - Accutane.

This wonder drug, while capable of performing near miracles on some individual's acne ravaged skin, wreaked literal havoc on many peoples lives. Problems ranging from severe depression to birth defects have left a permanenet scarlet letter on this once heralded acne cure.

With the newer herbal acne treatments coming out, proposing to cure your acne just as well, if not better than the modern marvels of science and pharmaceutical medicine, many people suffering from mild, moderate and severe acne took notice - for a reason. People started to see some pretty amazing results on these alternative acne pills. Not only that, people were not suffering any harmful side effects, and if anything, were gaining the additional benefit of herbal, botanical and vitamin nourishment that most of these herbal acne treatments offer.

With the added advantage of ingredients such as DMAE, a known antioxidant and anti aging compound, Vitamin C and E, also powerful anti oxidants, and skin clarifying agents, and other natural, herbal and vitamin packed substances, people were not only gaining the benefit of cleared up, pristine skin, but they were also noticing more tone, definition, clarity and improved texture and color as well.

What's to Come for Herbal Acne Remedies and Other Alternative Acne Treatments?

You'll be hearing more and more on herbal acne treatments in the upcoming years, and probably years to come after that. Herbal medicine in general is really making a name for itself. People are fed up with being over medicated, over charged, and put in jeopardy just for the sake of cosmetic or health reasons. Hence the switch over to herbal medicine and the migration to a more natural approach to healing and treatment of common human conditions, whether they are physical conditions or cosmetic imperfection.

Bad Breath Solutions

In the back of the mouth, on the back of the tongue, a bacteria which resides in the soft tissues causes halitosis or bad breath. The bacteria produces a sulfur gas which is putrid and circulate the bad odor. Tooth brushes cannot effectively remove the odor producing bacteria and even with frequent and lengthy rinsing, the mouthwashes do not produce a solution for this problem.

According to recent researches published in a consumer publication, the chronic bad breath problem is not given a permanent solution by breath mints, mouth washes and sprays. They only mask the odor temporarily.

To kill the bacteria which is causing bad breath practice oral hygiene by brushing the teeth twice daily, floss every day and rinse with oral solutions. Once in six month consult the dentist. Even though the various sprays, mints, gum and mouth wash only mask the bad breath it is a better alternative than the smell caused by bad breath. Remove the white residue from the tongue by using a plastic spoon. Most of the time, the white residue causes bad breath. After eating fish, cheese or milk brush the teeth. Bad breath is also caused by the break down of protein in the mouth. Keep away from alcohol, drink lot of water and avoid dry mouth which creates bad breath.

Bad breath can also occur due to a gum disease, medical problems or unhealthy dental work. The onset of menstrual period, certain types of medicines, smoking and fasting also produce bad breath.

Atkins diet which contains very high protein result in a common side effect of bad breath. The proteins in Atkins diet give more food to the sulfur gas generating bacteria and result in continuous bad breath. Coffee contains acids which help bacteria to grow faster. It should be a simple solution to avoid coffee and protein rich diet to have a uncomplicated social relationship.

Tea is an effective cure for bread breath. Polyphenos which reduces the output of sulfur gas and restrict the growth of bacteria is contained in green and black tea leaves in the form of catechins and theaflavins. Drink tea in important dinners and lunches and get away from bad breath !

A person suffering from bad breath normally does not smell it. Honest opinion from a trusted relative or friend will be helpful to take note of bad breath and the cure for it.

Three Reasons Why We Catch Coworkers' Germs

We are often forced to work much like rats in a maze, or as one haughty executive has put it, like fish in an aquarium. He meant that, if we are more crowded than ever, it doesn't matter, since we are infinitely adaptable as a species ourselves. Rather than comment further, I will let that stand on its own.

Along with the high stress that such overcrowding produces, there are basically three reasons why we catch our coworkers? germs and become ill ourselves:

1. The arrangement of desks/workstations/open cubicles, whatever they?re called where you work, often leaves much to be desired. Employees are frequently crammed into workstations that are too small for comfort, even on an open floor. Not only is there inadequate desktop space for paperwork, manuals, file trays, and other office tools, the arrangement puts people much too close to each other, like eggs in an egg carton, in fact.

A sneeze not caught by an adequately sized tissue can travel 3 to 6 feet at 100 to 150 mph, also spraying somewhat to the sides. Not much chance of ducking one of those, especially if your coworker sits facing you. Not that having a sneeze hurled at your back is anything but disgusting, but you're less likely to get sick from that one.

2. Even in today?s supposedly educated society, it?s quite amazing how many people don?t wash their hands. This includes rank-and-file people, managers, and yes, my dears, church ladies on Sundays. Of course, in an emergency, such as having to leave a building due to the fire horn going off, hygiene is obviously going to take a backseat to survival.

Under all other circumstances, we all need to wash our hands frequently during the day, and especially after visiting the restroom. We can also protect ourselves and protect others, by keeping a bottle of ?waterless? hand sanitizer at our desks and using it, when we?ve been sneezing. We can use disinfectant wipes to clean the handset or headset of the phone, our computer keyboards, and anything else we might have touched with contaminated hands or fingers.

3. Given the responsibilities and overwork that most of us deal with in today?s world, our own health may not be as robust as it once could have been, regardless of our age. However, we can remedy that!

A worn-out body and nerves, and a run-down immune system, leave us more susceptible to illness, whether waterborne, airborne or carelessly plastered on doorknobs. Sickness can be nature?s way of making us slow down and rest, but it's still better to do everything we can to avoid illnesses.

Among the most positive steps we can take now are:

eating a balanced diet (forget the fads),

getting enough sleep (?Americans? are severely sleep-deprived), and

finding a way to exercise a little every day.

About that exercise?it can seem impossible to find the time, when you're working long hours. Even so, from experience I?ve learned that just walking around the parking lot or around the block, for 10 or 15 minutes at lunchtime, tones the muscles. Not only does this make you feel a lot better, the muscles burn more calories. You can walk before or after you eat lunch, whatever works best for your digestive system. The important thing is to take care of yourself, so that you don't easily catch your coworkers' germs.

Peppermint Nature's Salve for Upper Respiratory Infections

Peppermint (Mentha Piperita) Peppermint is a hybrid perennial plant which is found mostly cultivated but also found wild in moist soil in the eastern U.S. and in Europe. The whole plant has the characteristic smell of menthol.

Peppermint definitely falls into my category of favorite herbs. While it is well known as an excellent stomach tonic for poor digestion, heartburn, nausea and insomnia. I have always found it an outstanding treatment for sinus inflammation and to relieve the constant coughing associated with bronchitis. Anyone paying attention to the news of late has heard the latest credo from the medical community; cough suppressants simply do not work and they should not be given to children. What then is a parent to do?

Nothing is more disturbing than lying awake at night listening to the constant, painful coughing of a spouse or child. If over-the-counter cough suppressants are ineffective, what will work? My suggestion would be to try a very strong cup of peppermint tea. No, I am not a doctor, and before administering any type of treatment, you should first discuss it with a medical professional.

That said, I have a history of bronchitis, generally brought on by a sinus infection. The constant sinus drainage collects in my chest and I begin to cough until it sounds like I am trying to hack up a lung. The chest tightens to the point where it is difficult to breath, and the constant coughing eliminates any hope of sleeping. When you suffer through that enough times, you?re willing to try just about anything.

Prepare a cup of very strong peppermint tea. If you are using tea bags, use at least 2 bags to a standard teacup. Allow the bags to steep until the tea is very dark. To take away a bit of the bitterness you can add a tablespoon of honey, which helps to sooth the throat.

Don?t just gulp the tea down. The greatest relief from this herbal remedy is obtained by inhaling the steam from of the tea. Hold the cup beneath your nose and inhale deeply. The fumes will instantly begin to reduce the swelling of the sinus passages, allowing you to breath easier.

The combination of fumes and drinking the hot tea will also begin to loosen up the mucus in your chest, and coughing will become more productive.

If your children happen to be anything like mine, they might be a bit resistant to drinking this tea, even with the honey. But rest assured, they will get almost as much benefit from simply breathing in the fumes as they will from drinking the tea. Set them up at the kitchen table with the tea under their nose. Drape a towel over their head and let them breath in the fumes until the tea cools.

Peppermints' natural calming properties make this a wonderful tea to drink just before bed. It will help you to relax and finally get a decent nights? rest.

Healthy Cooking Tips for Weight Loss

?Even if you only use a few of these simple healthy cooking choices, you can greatly decrease your fat intake. Research continues to support the importance of a low-fat diet that is rich in fruits and vegetables to promote permanent weight loss.

?Following these simple healthy cooking revisions is an easy way to cut the excess fat out of your diet, improve your health and promote almost effortless weight loss.

?By making just a few simple substitutes in your recipes, you can dramatically reduce your overall fat intake. Fad diets will come and go, but a low-fat diet that is full of fruits and vegetables continues to be the best proven method of weight loss and disease prevention.

?The key to healthy cooking is to decrease the fat and calories while at the same time adding nutritional value to the food. You are only successful if you have not sacrificed the quality of the final product.

Here are my favorite tips:

?Rinse your ground beef with hot water. Do this after browning and draining it. This will decrease the fat content in the meat by up to 50% without removing the flavor. Do not add your spices and vegetables until after you have rinsed the meat.

?Substitute chicken broth for butter. This works well for all rice, pasta or stuffing dishes. Remember to spray your casserole dish with cooking spray to prevent sticking.

?Saut? in wine or chicken/beef broth instead of oil. This works well for a stir-fry.

?Remove the oil from your marinade. Instead add something acidic such as fruit juice, nonfat Italian salad dressing or wine.

?Substitute nonfat cottage cheese for most of the cheese. This works well for the center layers of your pasta dishes, such as lasagna.

?Substitute mozzarella cheese for cheddar cheese. This change will decrease the fat content by half.

?Bake your favorite foods that are normally deep-fried. Toss your food into a plastic bag that contains a beaten egg white. Next, roll your pieces into finely ground, seasoned breadcrumbs. Then arrange your pieces in a single layer onto a cooking sheet that has been lightly coated with canola oil (monounsaturated fat) cooking spray. Bake your food at 350 degrees for anywhere from 7 to 40 minutes, depending on what you are oven-frying. Potatoes that have been cut into French fries will take the longest, whereas cheese curds will be done the quickest.

?Use skim milk instead of whole, 2% or 1%. You may not enjoy drinking skim milk, but in your recipes, you will not notice the difference. You will save 8 grams of fat per cup over whole milk.

?Use light cream cheese instead of regular cream cheese. You will not sacrifice taste with this substitute, yet you will cut your fat intake

?Use fat free sour cream instead of regular sour cream. This is an excellent tip for vegetable dips.

?Use reduced-fat mayonnaise or Miracle Whip Light instead of regular mayonnaise. Fat free mayonnaise and fat free Miracle Whip taste synthetic.

?Substitute yogurt or pumpkin for oil in your baked goods. This will add nutritional value to your cake, muffins or brownies as well as remove the fat. This substitute does not work well for cookies, as they will become more cake-like.

?Use 2 egg whites instead of 1 whole egg. This will work for the majority of your recipes.

?Record your recipe changes. Keep 3x5 index cards in your kitchen. Record your recipe changes while you are cooking, including baking temperature and time. Once your family has tasted the recipe, make comments on the bottom of the card. If the product needs to be revised further, you will have a starting point.

?Don?t tell everyone that the food is healthy! Resist the urge to brag about your healthy dish. Most people who are told that they are eating something ?good for them? will immediately think that the food is bland or not as good as the original.

Common Computer Workstation Mistakes and Solutions for Pain Relief Part 1

If you are experiencing pain in your wrists, fingers, hands, neck, shoulder or back and work at a computer for more than four hours per day there it is time to take a close look at how your computer workstation is designed.

Following are a few of the challenges I have seen in thousands of workstation designs. Does this sound like you?

Chair Armrests Too High Or Low:

In most instances the armrests are adjusted too high. Most keyboards are placed on surfaces too high for them and the computer user will adjust the armrest to the height of the work surface thinking this is supporting them properly.

They are inadvertently raising their shoulders to a tensed position. If the shoulder muscles are tensed for any length of time with repetitive motion in the hands or arms, varying levels of pain or discomfort may develop depending on the length of time in this tensed position.

Solution: Adjust the armrests up or down so that the shoulders muscles are in a relaxed position while resting on the armrests. If your shoulders are shrugged at all then the armrests are too high. If you are leaning into either armrest this could be an indication that the armrests are too low. The best way to do this is to drop your arms down by your side and just let your shoulders relax. It is important that you get a feel for this. In this fast paced and competitive world computer users are so focused on their work that they are not aware of the physical comfort changes that are occurring in their bodies on a daily basis.

Improper Sitting Posture:

If you are slouching in your chair you might be reducing your ability to take deep breathes due to collapsing your diaphragm. This can cause fatigue and discomfort because oxygen and nutrients cannot travel efficiently to your lower extremities and your brain.

Solution: Sit all the way back in your chair with the lower part of your back firmly touching the backrest. This will enable you to sit in a neutral posture with ease. Be sure you know how to adjust your chair. The chair is the foundation of the computer work area and if you have a great chair that is not adjusted properly then it will not do you any good. You want you feet to be flat on the floor or on a footrest.

Monitor Too High Or Low:

If the monitor is too low it requires bending the neck forward or down to view the screen. In high position the neck will bend backwards to read the screen.

Solution: Try this exercise. Relax your head and neck. If you do this correctly your head will be in a slight forward tilt. Now relax your eyes by letting your eyes fall to their lowest position in your eyes. Notice the lowest line on the screen you can read without raising your eyes or head. Position the monitor height so that the information you are reading is centered in this area.

For 19-21 monitors the top of the viewable screen will be approximately 2 below the line of sight. The line of sight is defined as the imaginary straight line from your eyes to the screen. Let your eyes and body determine what is comfortable.

Monitor and Keyboard Not Centered Together:

The computer user often will have the monitor placed to the side and will twist their neck left or right to view the screen. This added tension in the neck can create varying levels of discomfort.

Solution: Place the keyboard directly in front of the monitor so that you can look at the monitor without turning your neck sideways at all. If you use the mouse frequently and do not use the number pad on your keyboard you may consider an ergonomic keyboard with a 15 footprint. This will balance the keyboard AND mouse with the monitor.

Be on the lookout for Part 2 in the next few days?

Reiki Is The Magic YOU Can Do!

Do you find the title intriguing? The intention is not to intrigue but motivate and convince you that the magic of Reiki is within you.

Reiki is a benign energy that brings happiness and light into the lives of everyone who embraces it. It is an energy that can be harnessed to fulfill the little desires of life. Often the way Reiki works seems like magic.

Reiki asserts that the world is energy vibrating at different frequencies. Thought is energy and action is also energy. Every single object in the physical world is energy vibrating at different frequencies. Since energy cannot be destroyed, it remains in its current state until it is converted into other forms or reactions to form new energy vortices. Reiki gives you the power of conversion?the power of making the negative, positive.

However, Reiki energy, by itself, is neither positive nor negative. It corrects negative energy and stimulates the flow of positive energy. It releases blocks and enhances energy levels and makes dynamic all that is sluggish and diseased. Reiki is not a healing method alone it is also a method of developing yourself spiritually.

A number of meditations are taught while a person is initiated into Reiki. People who have been meditating earlier would find that they are able to attain the perfect state easily after Reiki initiation. Those who are new to meditation would find that with almost no ascetic practice they are able to enter the meditative state. They would also find that their relationship with God and the universe is being subtly altered and they are able to relate intensely with both animate and inanimate things.

A person who constantly uses Reiki to heal themselves and others will find that their thought processes are clearer, their memory is improving and that they have more energy for everything. The fundamental demand that the energy makes of us, is that we surrender to its intelligent power and allow it to guide us to the goals we desire.

Innovative uses of Reiki

Having said that let us examine how Reiki can be used innovatively to make our lives better.

A Reiki practitioner who met me during one of our discussion sessions told me of some strange ways in which she had used Reiki energy. She had gone with her family to a hill station. She has a little daughter aged four, who would eat her meals only if nursery rhymes are being played. As soon as the cassette player had been switched on preparatory to feeding her, she found that the batteries were dead and she had forgotten to bring fresh batteries. In desperation she decided to do Reiki to the batteries and charge them. Her husband laughed at her while she focused all her attention on energizing the batteries. After about fifteen minutes of doing Reiki she inserted the batteries into the player and lo behold, the batteries functioned normally for almost an hour. Her husband, who was a skeptic till then, became a believer. He enrolled for Reiki immediately on return from their holiday.

Plants and trees respond to Reiki, just as human beings do. Reiki enhances plant growth and increases their life energy. Start by doing Reiki at the roots to enhance their function of providing sustenance to the plant as a whole. When you intuitively understand that enough energy has been given move your hands to the stem. Hold your hands a few inches beyond the leaves and feel the energy flow. When plants have to be replanted, Reiki helps them take root easily. A friend who experienced the wonderful impact of Reiki on plants narrated the following episode to me.

She had several indoor plants in her drawing room and she was very fond of them. She would talk to them while she cleaned them and took them out for sunning. Suddenly she was called away from home to attend to her sick aunt. She left strict instructions with her maid to tend to the plants. When she returned after ten days, the maid was in tears. She said that she had taken care of the plants as directed but they seemed to be dying without reason. My friend was shocked and upset. She saw that most of the plant leaves had browned and fallen off. The plant itself was also drooping. In tears herself, she began talking to the plants and doing Reiki to them. She could not sleep all night and spent most of the night giving Reiki energy at repeated intervals. In the morning she dozed off and woke up hearing the exclamations of her maid. The plants had suddenly revived and had even sprouted fresh new leaves!

Fruits and vegetables respond to Reiki and remain fresh for a long time. The energy content in the food is enhanced and improves the health of the individual who ingests them. Though I have not tried it, colleagues who have tried it tell me that; Reiki improves the taste of sticky toffee! However, I can authoritatively state that you can increase the taste of food if you do Reiki to it while you cook.

Animals who are sick and distressed by injuries can be soothed and comforted by Reiki. Homes can be energized by thoroughly cleaning the rooms and drawing the first symbol of the second degree of Reiki in the four corners of the room. You can secure your home by visualizing a pyramid over it and drawing the power symbol on the four faces of the pyramid. You can do the same for your children or your family members who are leaving home for work or school.

A friend of mine who was accident-prone was extremely distressed when a series of accidents marred the best day of his life. He began the day by falling off his bed and slipped on the wet bathroom floor while bathing and banged his head on the sharp edge of the tub. While rushing to the hospital, his car skidded and he hit the meridian and ended up with a fractured arm. While setting his bone, the nurse accidentally pricked him with the hypodermic she was preparing. He rushed to my clinic straight from the hospital before the hospital fell on him! I gave him Reiki to reduce the pain of the fracture and quicken the healing. I asked him to visualize himself in the center of a colorful beach ball. I asked him to surround himself with giant power symbols and pray to the Reiki energy to protect him from accidents and negative energies for the next five days. He was so desperate that he went through the entire exercise sincerely. He did not have a single accident for the next five days. He was so elated that he rushed to the phone to ring me up on the sixth day babbling with joy. He promptly banged himself on the nearest chair and I was greeted with an ?ouch!? as I picked up the phone. Needless to say, he promptly sat down to get his Reiki insurance for the next five days!

Reiki seems like magic to the uninitiated. My mother, my sisters and myself were residing in a rather crime prone area of a city during our teens. One pleasant evening we decided to visit the beach. We duly locked up our home and went to sit on the golden sand, located at a walking distance from our home. As the evening slipped into dusk and darkness, we decided that it was time to go home. We were also a little afraid of the loitering youth of the area. We returned together, chatting and laughing to keep up our courage. On reaching home we suddenly realized that the key to house was not with us. We were perturbed and a little desperate. We clung to each other as we made our way back to the beach in search of the key, which had fallen into the sand. The place was deserted and the street lamps were dim. We had almost no hope of finding the key in the vast sea of sand. My sister and I decided that we would try Reiki, while my mother and other sister kneeled down to pray to God. As we did Reiki, a passing car headlight caught on the tip of the key and it flashed brilliantly in the light. I quickly dug around the area and there was our key partly buried in the sand! We thanked both God and Reiki for the timely help that we had received!

One of my patients complained that people were constantly borrowing money from her and were not bothered to return it at the time specified. She was particularly angry with some people who had taken large sums from her a year ago and were avoiding her now. I advised her to place all these people in a pyramid filled with pink light of love and hold the thought that all of them were ringing her bell with the specific intention of returning her money. She agreed after a lot of persuasion and she sat with me at the clinic doing the exercise. After she returned home, she called me back excitedly to say that one of the persons she had placed in the pyramid had met her at her doorstep and had returned her money. He had also apologized for the delay in returning the same. The next few days were the most wonderful days of her life as everyone of the persons who had borrowed money from her returned the sums with apologizes and thanks!

You can magnetize money by doing Reiki to it. Take a dollar or whatever currency your country has and do Reiki to it. Visualize in your mind that the money is attracting more money to it. Do this daily for a week or so and watch your money grow!

Reiki requires no testimonials other than those that you will provide for yourself. You can easily verify all the facts narrated above. Why don?t you just for once put aside any secret doubts that you entertain and test out the efficacy of Reiki? Take a plant that it dying and revive it with Reiki. Do Reiki on a person or animal that you always considered hostile (you can do distance Reiki too). Try to find an object you have misplaced by focusing your attention on it and doing Reiki to it. Imagine yourself winning a prize and do Reiki to the image it brings to your mind. Make a Reiki Box and write your desires on a piece of paper and put it into the box. Do Reiki to the box everyday and enjoy the pleasure of having your wishes fulfilled!

Reiki is not a science that is confined to clinics and medical tables. It is something that can become a part of your everyday life and enrich it beyond your dreams! It is not witchcraft or dark magic. It is a proof of concept that the Universe is abundant and we have to only focus our energies and dip into the abundance for the fulfillment of our desires.

Rigid Gas Permeables Comparisons What Lens Is Best For You?

The purpose of rigid gas permeables comparisons is really to find out which type of contact lens is really the best for you. Before entering into this discussion, perhaps we should be clear as to what a rigid gas permeable (RGP) lens is?

What Are RGP Lenses?

Gas permeable lenses utilise silicon, and were introduced in the mid-1980s. The technology is newer than that used in the creation of soft contact lenses. The use of silicone also makes the plastic more flexible plastic than PMMA, which is the material from which hard contact lenses were originally made. The gas permeable nature of RGP lenses means that oxygen can pass through then, resulting in greater comfort and better eye health. In fact, RGPs transmit more oxygen to the eye than do most soft contact lenses.

GPs can also provide better visual acuity, durability, and deposit resistance than soft contact lenses. They can be easier to clean, and since they're long-lasting, they can be less expensive in the long term than soft lenses.

Comparisons

Tests have been carried out on RGP's, to discover the effects of lenses on corneal swelling and corneal infections.

Despite 125 Dk/t units or greater, studies have shown differences in overnight swelling between RGP and silicone hydrogel materials. There is a small but significant overnight swelling with RGP lenses in this class when compared with silicone hydrogels, yet studies of Pseudomonas adherence to human epithelium have shown that RGP-wearing corneas bind the least bacteria.

Conclusions. Corneal refractive therapies are on the verge of international acceptance as a standard alternative for treating refraction. Continually using newer, more permeable lens materials is a necessity to ensure safety, efficacy, and, in turn, long-term acceptance.

The research and results above (C) 2004 Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, Inc.

One can conclude from this research that the gas permeable nature of the lens is critical to the well being of the eye. The question of comfort will always play a part in a discussion such as this, but bearing in mind the nature of the conclusions drawn above, it would be worthwhile to make a great effort to try and get used to your RGP's.
